Manokwari, Jubi – The Industry, Trade, and Cooperatives Office (Perindagkop) of Manokwari Regency, West Papua, will conduct surprise inspections (sidak) at several fuel stations (SPBU) in collaboration with the Manokwari Police to ensure fuel availability and maintain price stability.
Head of Perindagkop Manokwari, Yahya, said a formal request has been sent to the police to carry out joint inspections.
“We have just sent a letter to the police to conduct joint inspections at SPBUs in Manokwari,” Yahya said at the Manokwari Police headquarters on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).
He urged residents not to panic over circulating information about potential fuel price hikes or limited stock.
“Our goal is to ensure fuel availability and confirm that prices remain unchanged,” he said.
Yahya emphasized that based on current data, there has been no change in fuel prices and supply levels remain stable. However, inspections are necessary to verify conditions on the ground. He added that there have been no reports of long queues at fuel stations, with the situation remaining normal.
Steven, head of the Sowi fuel station in South Manokwari District, confirmed that fuel stock remains secure. Subsidized fuel distribution continues according to daily allocations, with 10 kiloliters of Pertalite and 15 kiloliters of diesel (solar).
He also noted that non-subsidized fuels, including Dexlite and Pertamax, are available with adequate reserves—30 tons of Dexlite and 50 tons of Pertamax stored in tanks.
“Prices remain the same. There has been no change,” Steven said.
Meanwhile, Acting Area Manager for Communication and Relations at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Bramantyo Rahmadi, stated in a press release that Pertamina remains committed to ensuring energy availability in line with government policy, which currently does not include any adjustments to fuel prices, whether subsidized or non-subsidized.
As a downstream energy company, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to implement strategic measures to ensure smooth energy distribution nationwide. These include strengthening coordination and negotiations with suppliers, as well as optimizing distribution systems to maintain stable supply.
Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth M.V. Dumatubun, reiterated that the company consistently follows government policies, including those related to fuel pricing. He also highlighted efforts such as supplier negotiations and distribution optimization to safeguard energy availability.
“We urge the public to use energy wisely according to their needs and not be influenced by unverified information that could trigger panic buying,” he said.
Pertamina also encouraged the public to adopt responsible energy consumption habits as part of maintaining national energy security. The company emphasized that public cooperation is crucial to ensuring smooth distribution and preventing unnecessary disruptions.
Through synergy between the government, security forces, and the public, it is expected that national energy availability can be maintained to support daily activities and economic growth across Indonesia. (*)
